Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Common Shipping Questions

Everything you need to know about pricing, transport options, and how the process works.

How much does car shipping cost?

Cost depends on factors like distance, vehicle size, transport method, and current route demand. Request a quote and we'll walk you through the specifics for your shipment.

What affects the price?

Distance between pickup and delivery, vehicle size and weight, open vs. enclosed transport, how easily the locations can be accessed, seasonal demand, and whether the vehicle is running all factor into pricing.

How long does transport take?

Transit time varies with distance and route. Shorter regional moves may take a couple of days, while cross-country shipments typically take about one to two weeks. We'll give you an estimated timeframe with your quote.

Is pickup or delivery guaranteed?

We provide estimated pickup and delivery windows based on route and carrier availability. These dates are not guaranteed unless stated in writing in your service agreement, since factors like weather, traffic, and mechanical issues can affect scheduling.

What is open transport?

Open transport ships your vehicle on an open-air trailer, the same type used to deliver new cars to dealerships. It's the most common and generally most affordable option for everyday vehicles.

What is enclosed transport?

Enclosed transport ships your vehicle inside a fully covered trailer, shielding it from weather and road debris. It's often selected for luxury, classic, or other higher-value vehicles.

Can I place personal items in the vehicle?

Carrier policies vary, and any personal items left in the vehicle are generally not covered by transport insurance. Please confirm with your carrier before loading anything, and keep weight to a minimum.

Can you transport a non-running vehicle?

Yes. Non-running vehicles can be transported using carriers equipped with the right loading equipment. Please let us know the vehicle's condition when requesting a quote so we can arrange accordingly.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?

Carriers in our network are required to carry cargo insurance. Coverage amounts and terms vary by carrier, so we recommend reviewing the specific policy details before your vehicle is picked up.

How is the vehicle inspected?

The driver performs a visual inspection at both pickup and delivery, noting the vehicle's condition on a Bill of Lading. Both you (or your representative) and the driver sign off at each step.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept major credit and debit cards along with other standard payment methods. Accepted options may vary slightly depending on your order type — we'll confirm what works for you.

Can someone else release or receive the vehicle?

Yes. You can authorize another person to release or receive the vehicle on your behalf. Just provide their name and contact information ahead of the scheduled pickup or delivery.

Do you transport vehicles from auctions?

Yes, we coordinate pickups from auction facilities nationwide and can deliver to a dealership, business, or personal address.

Can you move multiple vehicles?

Yes. Whether it's one additional vehicle or a larger multi-vehicle shipment, we coordinate the logistics for dealers, families, and businesses.

What happens if a large truck cannot enter my street?

If road width, low branches, or weight restrictions prevent the carrier from reaching your address, the driver may ask to meet at a nearby accessible location, such as a large parking lot, for pickup or delivery.

How do I prepare my vehicle?

Remove personal belongings, disable any alarm system, leave roughly a quarter tank of fuel, and take photos of the vehicle's current condition before pickup.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Orders can generally be canceled or modified before the carrier is dispatched. Terms may vary depending on timing and are outlined in your order agreement — contact us as soon as possible if your plans change.

How do dealership accounts work?

Dealerships and other businesses can set up a commercial account for recurring transport needs, with a dedicated point of contact and consolidated billing for ongoing shipments.
